8.1 3-3/8" Carter cave side notch found in Licking Co. OH. Ex- Schrader. This is about the highest quality carter material I have had in a long time, super coloration and quality to the flint, the piece is very thin as well. $250 ON HOLD
8.2 4-1/4" obsidian blade. Western piece, Ex- Russell Duttweiler. Super translucent. $200
8.3 3 Nice Ft. Ancient points. I guess the middle one can be called a drill but the other 2 are nice serrated Ft. Ancient Triangles. Found in West Chester OH. Butler Co. by J. Allen. Size range is 1-1/16" to 1-3/4". The better triangle has an interesting sort of notched base. $80 for the group
8.4 3"-1/4" Translucent Burlington Thebes, Found Near Riley MI. Ex- R. Poynter. This is one killer piece of flint, rarely do you ever see a thebes with a needle tip and in such great condition. Great bevels and neat material for white flint. $400
8.5 3-5/8" Fluted clovis, I am unsure of the material but it looks to be a cherty form of Kaolin, it has a very neat quartz vein running straight up the middle of the piece. Fluted heavly on one side, with shallower flutes on the other, Base and side are ground nicely. Preble Co. OH. Ex- Harrold Sapp collection. A nice no brainer large example of paleo workmanship. $280
8.6 2-1/2" dia. Hardstone discoidal. Very well made and a nice starter to a disc collection. Nice polish and shape, found in Scott Co. KY. by John Hughes prior to 1975. $75
8.7 2-5/8" Gem flint ridge drill. Rarely do I come across gem quality flint ridge but this piece is made of it, translucent, glossy, nice color on a no brainer drill. Found in Ohio by John Hughes prior to 1975. $100
8.8 2-1/4" Highly patinated sonora Eccentric. This is the first one of these I have owned, I never thought I'd even see an authentic one but here it is. A small amount of ancient damage on the base but it is 95% intact. I keep looking at this piece and seeing a turkeytail that was broken and then turned into this piece, the damaged area has the same patination as the rest of the piece. I have also given some thought to these being equilivent to a "saleman sample" of what and ancient flint knapper could do in the way of notching. These are ultra rare to come across. Found by John Hughes in Scott Co. KY prior to 1975. $200
8.9 4-1/8" Coshocton paleo blade, Ohio piece Ex- Hill (has his number on it but hard to see with the black flint). Super quality on the material and very well made paleo tool, you can really get the feel of how they made clovis points seeing this piece. $100 ON HOLD
