Slate, Stone and Bone Artifacts







S001 - 3-1/2" x 2-3/8" Unnotched winged banner stone made of banded slate, Found in Hancock Co. Ind. Ex- Phillip Foster, Ex- Earl Townsend collection, Davis COA G8.This is a very nice piece with great history and it can most likely be typed as a miniature. WAS $1000, Now $600




S002 - 4-3/4" Red slate expanded center gorget. found 1 mile south of Dublin, Franklin Co. OH. Ex - Meuser, Ex- Driskill, Ex- Behny. Pictured in Hothem's Ornamental Indian Artifacts Pg 56. Very nice and rare piece. unfortunate that the Meuser # is gone but it was the custom of Driskill to do so, I will do my best to find the number. Email for price


S003 - 3-1/4" x 2" banded slate bannerstone. Great piece even though small it is still very nice, notice the nice banding with a bullseye in the center. found 5 miles north of Worthington in Delaware Co. OH. Ex - Bob Whactel, Ex- Steve Ward. If you were to look real hard you may be able to find this piece in Bob's collection in Who's Who #1. Was $600, Now $400



S004 - 5-5/8" Black banded slate pendant from Christian Co. KY. Ex- Strunk. This is one huge pendant, it also has some tally marks on one edge and a spot where another hole was going to be drilled above the hole. Absolutley oozing authenticity, you will never find one this no brainer on the market. You can learn alot about good slate from this piece. $125



S005 - 1-3/4" hardstone grooved plummet from Boone Co. MO. I think this piece is made of limestone but I'm not sure. Great plummet with perfect form. Ex- Jones. $100



S006 - 3" x 1-1/4" Steatite engraved and tallied bow tie ridged Gorget, found in Harlan Co. Ky. Ex- Ashman, Ex- Strunk. I have never seen a piece that has so many neat features. it is engraved on 3 sides and tallied on one side. And it has a nice ridge on the underside of the the piece. Just an all around great authentic artifact that will always get attention. Davis COA. $500



S007 - 4-1/2" tall x 4" wide Bell pestel made of quartz, found in Preble Co. OH. Ex- Mick Van Steen ( president of Ohio Arch) sweet piece!!!. $400



S008 - 3" long megalodon tooth, very nice serrations and all of the base is intact, a few inpact marks on teh enamal but a super tooth. $50
